The Construction Industry leadership is usually populated either by architects or engineers, or by entrepreneurs in specific trades. It is unusual to find someone who entered the retail industry after an Oxford degree in PPE, and then moved into a specialist Construction trade, becoming President of the British Structural Steelwork Association. During that career, he was involved in contracts including North Sea Platforms, Humber Bridge, Wimbledon AELTC, The Old Vic, London Bridge City, Canary Wharf. Towards the latter part of his career, he set up Steelwork companies in Germany, Poland, Ukraine and China. Recently, he has diversified into sunrise ventures in Photovoltaic Buildings, Modular Residential Units from China, and Aerosol Eco-valves.
