What makes this nominee inspiring?
Phil’s career was sparked by taking part in the Young Enterprise Company Programme at school, with their youth marketing and research agency going on to become the UK competition winners in 2007. Since then, Phil has led several major projects in the creative industries and was appointed as Director of Public Engagement for Hull 2017, UK City of Culture. Following successfully delivery of the first-ever London Borough of Culture in 2019, Phil went on to work for the Organising Committee of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham as the Director of Ceremonies, Culture and the Queen’s Baton Relay. This earned him an OBE for services to sport and culture in December 2022. He is now group Chief Commercial Officer for the global creative studio NEWSUBSTANCE and SKYMAGIC drone light shows.
