Junior School teacher and Old Hymerian, Chris Bloomfield (OH 2007-09) will soon be competing in the Humber Bridge Cycling Sportive alongside his Dad, and 45 other riders as part of Phil's Pedal Party '23.
Chris knows Phil Russell through Hullensians RUFC. Phil was diagnosed with Glioblastome Multiforme (GBM) in October 2021 and so they are riding the 62 mile route to raise money for Brain Tumour Research and P.A.U.L. for Brain Recovery.
The event takes place on Sunday, 11 June 2023. The team will be made up from friends, former teammates and current players, of all shapes and sizes, who will be tasked with raising as much as possible for these two amazing charities. Hullensians RUFC are kindly organising corporate shirt sponsorhip for this elite hit squad of unprofessional riders and the team members will pay an entry fee to the event organisers. This means all the money they raise will go to these charities so they can continue their amazing work. The team will complete the ride and end up back at Hullensians for some well deserved beers, BBQ and a rubdown!
