The school's Medical Society were delighted to welcome Alex Anderson, OH 2008-18 to talk to the aspiring medical students. He is now in his final Year of studies as a medical student at the Univesity of Liverpool.
Alex actually wanted to be a lawyer when he was younger and it was after he was around 14 that he starting enjoying sciences more, which then developed into an interest in medicine. Med-link in Year 10 then helped fuel his passion to where he is now. He also completed work experience while he was at Hymers College and started volunteering at Dove House.
During his talk, Alex spoke about his studies and how he is in the process of applying for foundation jobs at various deaneries and regions, and is currently on a placement at Aintree Hospital in Liverpool. He also looked back on the process of applying for medical school, to share his advice with the students.
