We recently welcomed back to the school, Sophie Middleton, OH 2015-21, who kindly donated her time to talk to our Sixth Form aspiring medics.
She spoke to them about life at Medical School and the application process to get there. Sophie also discussed gap years and explained how they can be useful for students who want to study medicine. She also described her role as a Health Care Assistant (HCA) and how that is helping her studies at Medical School. Sophie is now in her third year at Leeds University and is also working as a part-time HCA at a GP surgery. This involves jobs such as taking blood, and blood pressure, and performing ECGs.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Medical Society, Sophie.
