Susan's talk to our Business and Economics Society

Susan Godfrey, OH 1989-91 returned to Hymers College to speak to our sixth form students

We were delighted to welcome back Susan Godfrey, OH 1989-91 to talk to our Business and Economics Society about her career since leaving Hymers.

Susan is Senior Procurement Manager at the Post Office and shared her pathway into procurement after A levels at Hymers. Susan was able to share her career and her study journey since her MA in International Studies, her Ph.D. at Aberdeen in International Relations studies Theory, and her more recent studies that gave her  MCIPS in Chartered Institute in Purchasing and Supply. 

Susan was able to share with the students how beneficial the study of Economics is to a role in Procurement and many factors are interconnected into a role in procurement. Every day is different which gives new challenges and opportunities. Susan enjoyed answering questions about her studies and University choices, our students benefited from her knowledge and experience and opened up their eyes to using their Economics knowledge in to the workplace.
