Mike Clements, OH 1986-1995, spoke to our Business and Economics students this week about his career since Hymers and his role as a Fund Manager. Mike studied Industrial Economics at Warwick and after a summer internship at UBS Global Asset Management, he joined them in his first role after University as an equity assistant.
Mike shared some really valuable advice with the students about their choice of university and what he looks for when recruiting new graduates fresh out of University.
He shared his interest in investing from a young age and offered some thoughts on how to demonstrate interest in investing to help secure roles. He highly recommended any summer placements and self-analysis to demonstrate personal interest in the investing field. The jobs market is competitive in the City but a good degree, work experience, and keen interest in investing will help.
Mike offered to support our students with any help in the future. Thanks, Mike it was great to have you back with us back in the classroom where it all began for you.
An absolute pleasure to have you back with us.
