A group of our Year 12 students recently competed in the Young Enterprise Competition this year and reached out to our OH Community for support. The students, Vanessa, Kate, Jess, Olivia, Jess and Amelia would like to thank the community for the donations that they received.
In deciding on their entry for the competition, they chose a business that involved their passion for reading and participating in primary mentoring. They wanted to create something that would not only help young children but would also be a sustainable product. They also wanted to ensure that it didn’t have a negative impact on the environment and that it would benefit a charity that would make a difference to young children.
We know the benefits of reading from such a young age and how much we valued it and still do today.
As a result of their hard work, they went through to the second stage, the Young Enterprise Regional Final at York’s Guildhall, which was held on the 16th May. Unfortunately, they didn't make it through to the finals, however, they did win two awards; one for the best presentation and one for the most creative business.
Since the competition has ended, they have now decided to discontinue the business so they can focus on their A Levels next year.
Congratulations to them and good luck for Year 13.
