Lena Shah was a student at Hymers College from 1989 until completing her A Levels in 1998. She is now a mindfulness and yoga coach, as well as the founder of Metaworks coaching and author of "Impetus", a healing and mindfulness journey told through poetry, prose, illustrations and vibrant colour musings.
She gave a mindfulness-based talk about her time at Hymers, her career and journey in mindfulness, poetry and writing to the English Society. As well as poetry readings she also took the students through some mindfulness techniques.
