Rachel's Talk to Engineering

Rachel Crabb (OH 2012-22) spoke virtually to the Engineering Society

Rachel Crabb started Hymers College in 2012 and left last year in the Summer of 2022.  She is now in her first year as an Automotive Engineering student at Loughborough University.

I spoke about my time at Hymers, how I went about my UCAS applications, why I chose automotive engineering and Loughborough University and the sports here at Loughborough. I also spoke about engineering and that whatever you choose you can always go into other engineering disciplines, as it has the same principles from a wide range.

I spoke a lot about connections because in preparation for university, due to COVID, that was only what I had available to me.  Talking to other engineers came as a massive help and also that my dad was an engineer as well!

Thank you, Rachel. It was a pleasure to have you back and hear how much you are enjoying your next life chapter. Keep in touch!
