Hymers now offers GCSE and A Level Design Technology and Product Design for A Level. Many of our alumni talk fondly about their DT days at Hymers in the (what was new in the 1990's) Art and Design Block and the creations they made with Mr Price, Mr Kelsey, Mr Hale, Mr Atkinson-Young, Mr Mills, Mr Lucas, to name just a few of the teachers!
Many of our more recent alumni have gone on to University to study Product Design and others now working in creative and engineering industries after finding their passion for all things design at Hymers in their most informative years.
The CNC machine our students across the Senior School use weekly in their course lessons has now come to the end of its life. A life we have been extending each year with fingers crossed and as it has now delivered past its 17th year, a replacement machine has been priced up at nearly £30k. This would be an upgraded version not using Windows 95!
Should you be interested in supporting the school towards purchasing a new machine or any other school project, however big or small, we would love to hear from you.
