Becky Jones (née Johnson) attended Hymers College from January 1995 until July 2001.  She kindly pre-recorded a video that was shown to our current Year 12 to give advice to them on a career in journalism after they leave school.

Becky continued her education at the University of Bristol, where she studied Mathematics, including studying in Spain.  She then went on to do a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at the University of London.

After leaving education, she joined Sky News in 2012 as their Midlands Correspondent.  Her work there has included highlighting the protests about LGBT teaching in Birmingham schools and reporting on worldwide events such as the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

Thank you Becky for spending time with our current students. We are also very much looking forward to welcoming you back to school in September 2022 as our OH Dinner host!
