Paul Scott, OH 1986-96, started up Eyeweb, a website business with a friend over 20 years ago, and what started out as an experiment at the time, has grown into a successful business based in Hessle, specialising in digital marketing and web design. Now, each year, Eyeweb set out on a fundraising challenge to raise money for a local charity.
During this year's "Walkies for Welfare" fundraiser, the seven team members promised to walk 1,000 miles over the month of October. They surpassed their target, finishing the challenge at a total of nearly 1,100 miles.
The money raised through public donations has gone to Hull Animal Welfare Trust, a charity based in South Cave that rehabilitates and rehomes abandoned and mistreated animals. The trust relies solely on public donations to stay up and running.
We really appreciate the team at Eyeweb for doing this fundraiser to help the animals in our care. Times are very tough currently, and we cannot thank them enough for choosing to support us.
Natalie Rhodes of Hull Animal Welfare Trust
Hull Animal Welfare Trust has been active since 1982 and has since rehomed over 30,000 pets. As costs rise, fundraisers like Walkies for Welfare are crucial to the survival of these non-profit organisations.
We’re thrilled with the outcome of Walkies for Welfare and want to thank everyone for donating. It’s been incredibly rewarding. We hope this donation goes a long way in helping them deliver their fantastic work.
