Ross Tomlinson, OH 2005-12 left Hymers College to pursue his dream of acting and has since appeared on the small screen, the big screen and on stage. His latest performance is starring in the play, The Unseen at Riverside Studios in London from Friday 15th November to Saturday 14th December 2024.
The Unseen is written by Craig Wright (Six Feet Under, Lost, Dirty Sexy Money) and was first produced in New York in 2008. This is the UK and European premiere. It's about prison systems under repressive and totalitarian governments, and how people can still find hope and human connection in conditions of isolation and fear.
Ross is playing the prison guard, Smash, who starts to question his own role in the system, his morals, and his identity, when he's forced to commit acts of unspeakable violence on his prisoners.
It's a really exciting and humbling project to be a part of. It's running in conjunction with the exhibition Faces of Russian Resistance at the Riverside studios, which documents the very real and very current struggle of ordinary Russian citizens who oppose the Putin regime, and have paid for it with their freedom, or with their lives. I'm also delighted to be working with Richard Harrington and Waj Ali, two actors I've admired for a really long time!
