Paul Duffy recently ran the London Marathon 2023 for Diverse Abilities because of the wonderful care they gave to his son, James. Diverse Abilities is the only charity that supports children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities in Dorset, since it was established in 1955.
Paul's son James was born in October 2002 and sadly died in March 2021, aged 18 years old. He was an amazing, happy young man who dealt with so much through his short life and is still missed by all who knew him.
I’m afraid I did not do very well as I was a little unwell on the day, and the rain was awful! We were soaking wet and really quite cold at the start too.... I have all the excuses! It took me over 5 and half hours and was super tough - I think I would have given up at the start if I wasn’t running it for charity!
Congratulations Paul on completing the London Marathon and raising over £1,000 for the charity.
