An Evening of Song - Friday 19th November 

Tenor Matteo Placidi invites you to ‘An Evening of Song’ accompanied by Pianist Alexandra Standing. Together they will be performing a variety of English, French, German and Italian repertoire over the course of the evening. Matteo is a classically trained tenor and graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Born in Dorset of British and Italian descent he will be performing a series of concerts from his home county. Whilst studying he performed in venues across London including the Barbican, Cadogan Hall, St Martin’s in the Fields and Southwark Cathedral and is collaborating with Alexandra Standing for this performance.

Alumna Alex is an active award-winning pianist and chamber musician recently graduating with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London. She studied collaborative piano with James Baillieu and Christopher Glynn and has won various awards and prizes at the Royal Academy of Music, including the Marjorie Thomas Art of Song award. Alex starts a new role as Head of Keyboard’ at King Edward School VI in Southampton, which starts in January. 

The event should last around one hour and thirty minutes including an interval for drinks and refreshments. Doors will open from 7pm with an event start time of 7.30pm. Matteo and Alex both extend a warm welcome to you all and are very much looking forward to this upcoming performance.
