Duke of Edinburgh - Eskdale 1993

Do you remember visiting Eskdale for Duke of Edinburgh?

While searching through The Development Office's Archives, we found a videotape of "DofE - Eskdale 1993".  The tape has since been converted and can be viewed below.  On watching the video, it appears to have been filmed and narrated by former Head of Chemistry, Alex Sutton (OH Staff 1962-2002) and Eskdale was a place visited annually for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

Teachers seen on the video include Mr Thompson and Mr Price, who looked after about a dozen students, including Mark Freestone, Rob Tinnion and Tim Webb.

Searching our Digital Archives, we unfortunately did not find anything relating to the 1993 trip but we did find reports from in The Hymerian 1992, written by Alex Sutton and The Hymerian 1995, written by Mark Freestone.

If you are unable to read the images clearly, please click here to access a PDF version: Hymerian Reports

We appreciate though that the quality of the video is of its time but we hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane.
