Life After Hymers |
Over the last year, I had the privilege of working at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars as a Private Client Experience and Marketing Intern, based at their headquarters in Goodwood, West Sussex. Rolls-Royce, as you may know, is renowned for its luxury vehicles and caters to a global clientele. My role gave me a unique insight into the world of luxury automotive experiences, blending operational responsibilities with client-facing opportunities.
Working directly within the Private Office, I played a key role in planning and delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. This included organising chauffeured transfers, coordinating catering, and managing our fleet of cars to ensure each visit was truly memorable. Hosting clients was a highlight of my role as I conducted factory tours and showcased the recently launched Cullinan Series II, which was a fantastic opportunity to share my passion for the brand’s craftsmanship and innovation.
One of the most thrilling aspects of my placement was representing Rolls-Royce at high-profile events, such as the annual Festival of Speed. I worked on the stand, engaging with the public and clients, sharing insights about these incredible cars and the artistry behind their creation. I also supported client track days at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, where I ensured our clients enjoyed an unforgettable experience driving models like the Ghost and Black Badge Ghost at speed. A personal highlight? Taking a spin around the track myself, it was exhilarating!
This placement has been an unforgettable chapter, offering me invaluable skills and experiences that have strengthened my passion for luxury marketing and client relations.
Beyond the work itself, I had the pleasure of being part of an incredible team. I learned so much from the talented individuals around me and formed friendships that I know will last a lifetime. Collaborating with such passionate and driven colleagues truly made the experience even more rewarding.
I hope this inspires current students to pursue unique opportunities and explore industries they’re passionate about. I would highly recommend seeking a degree with an opportunity to do a placement.
