International Women's Day 2024

Celebrated on 8 March, the global day recognises the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, while also highlighting the ongoing fight for gender equality

As Hymers College celebrates 35 years of co-education, it seemed particularly fitting to highlight some of our alumni that we have featured on our website over the last twelve months.


Sarah Lucy Penny, OH 2002-12 and Elinor Kirby, OH 2005-15

In March 2024, Crazy for You will be coming to Hull New Theatre, performed by Hessle Theatre Company.  The musical show has a number of Old Hymerian Connections, with Sarah Lucy Penny as the Musical Director and Elinor Kirby as Polly, the lead actress.

Anna Longthorp, OH 1991-2001

Anna Longthorp is a free-range pig farmer turned meat wholesaler and retailer creating a sustainable supply chain from Field to Fork.

She Productions, founded by Jessica Duffield and Annie Kirkman, along with their friend Alice Rose Palmer, came back to Hymers College to rehearse Beverley Does Broadway over the summer holidays in 2023.
