Life After Hymers |
On Friday 15 July 2022 Eleonor was admitted onto the Solicitor’s Roll at an awards ceremony at The Law Society HQ on Chancery Lane, London. Her proud parents including former OH President (2005) Mike Whitehead (OH 1964 to 1973) were present at this very special event which included the presentation of her scroll by Law Society President I. Stephanie Boyce.
Around 7000 new Solicitors are admitted each year and currently there are about 156,000 practicing in England and Wales. Ellie is currently a Solicitor with DAC Beachcroft in Leeds, specialising in Construction Litigation. Previously, she completed a very rewarding 2-year training contract with Wilkin Chapman, the largest law firm in the region, who are based in Lincolnshire.
Prior to that, she completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Leeds whilst working for Pinsent Mason. After leaving Hymers in 2011 Eleonor attended The Law School at University of Hull gaining a 2:1 LLB before completing a Master of Laws for a fourth year.
The Whitehead family has two qualified teachers and now a lawyer, so very proud parents all round. All three attended The University of Hull. Rather uniquely, if you include Post Graduate qualifications, the family has attended 6 Hull University degree ceremonies!
Ellie is very appreciative of the education she received at Hymers and still keeps in touch with many fellow students and also has fond memories of many of her teachers at Hymers.
