Amelia's Delayed Graduation

Amelia Thacker, OH 2007-17, graduated in Earth Sciences from Durham University

Amelia Thacker attended Hymers College from 2007 until 2017, before studying at Durham University.  She studied there for four years, graduating with a 2:1 in MSci Earth Sciences in 2021.  Unfortunately, due to Covid, her graduation ceremony was delayed until this year (2022).

Whilst at university, she was frontman and bassist for The Moon Men, having performed to crowds from two to over 100 people. She also re-introduced Trevelyan JamSoc as a society for musicians to meet and jam together.

Amelia now works for Ordnance Survey as a Field Surveyor and by coincidence, at work, she has come across two alumni so far...  Her mentor at work is Alistair Green (OH 1976-83) and Chris Redfern (OH 1979-86) is another member of the South Yorkshire team.
