Life After Hymers |
Tracy has carved a successful career in Engineering since leaving Hymers College and recently gave a virtual talk to our Engineering Society.
After leaving Hymers College and gaining A-levels in Maths, Chemistry, Spanish and General Studies, she went on to study Chemical Engineering at Nottingham University. Since graduating from university, she spent many years as a Process Engineer in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals industry. More recently, she has worked as a Technical Engineer in Materials Wet Processing in Recycling, Waste Water, Sand, and Aggregate industries. Her current role is as a Technical Innovation Lead Engineer at CDE Global.
During the talk, she discussed her career history, including her time on Bechtel's Graduate Development Programme, where she got to go on an offshore survival course. She also spoke about the role of women in engineering and how CDE proudly champions its "Engineering Heroes for International Women in Engineering Day".
Tracy has been able to work on a variety of projects on-site locations on all continents, worth millions of pounds, and has been involved in designing chemical and oil and gas processing plants.
At the end of the talk, Tracy gave the students valuable tips and advice on careers in engineering.
Thank you, Tracy
