Life After Hymers |
Having left Hymers in 2001 with the aim of joining the Armed Forces I unfortunately later had to leave due to a previously undiagnosed health condition. Battling ill health for a number of years and only holding temporary jobs, I finally found a position with ASOS.com as my health started to settle. After four years with ASOS, I turned my mind to attaining a true career path in software engineering and started a Computing and IT degree in 2016. Whilst completing the degree part-time, I progressed in my career with ASOS to the position of Control Room Manager, overseeing all the systems automation in the warehouse operation, before finally changing to a Systems Engineer role with OE Electrics Ltd, designing and implementing several key systems to aid business growth.
Although this career change occurred before I had completed my degree, I continued to work on completing it and finally finished at the beginning of this month with a First Class Honours.
