Life After Hymers |
It was a pleasure to receive this email in The Development Office this week.
"Currently I am in my 5th year of medical school at Imperial College London, and a few weeks back I was watching an operation at Hammersmith Hospital as part of my studies. During the operation the conversation turned to where everyone was from. Two of the consultants in the operating theatre were from Hull, when I mentioned that I went to school in Hull one of the consultants asked me if it was Hymers College I went to. To my surprise, the consultant anesthetist, Dr Jeremy Campbell, was also an Old Hymerian, who had finished at Hymers 20 years before me. It was amazing to see that despite the 20 year age gap, we as Old Hymerians had an instant bond and shared a sense of happiness to find a fellow Old Hymerian by complete chance. Upon further discussion, we also discovered that we shared many of the same teachers such as Mr Meadway, Mr Fitzpatrick, and Mr Thompson. We both recounted many of the amazing memories we had of the school and teachers that made it the school it is, and also how lucky we were to go to such a great school"
