Fondly Remembered |
We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Norman Victor Elliott aged 90 years, who attended the school from 1942 until 1949. After leaving Hymers College, he worked for the National Farmers’ Union, where he became General Secretary of the Howden branch and he did a lot for sport in South Cave where he lived.
Norman had a younger brother John, who also attended Hymers College between 1942 and 1949, who passed away in May 2010.
Norman's granddaughter, Charlotte, informed us of his funeral details and also of a fundraising page set up in his name:
Some of you may have known my grandfather Norman over the years through Sports, Church, Rotary, The National Farmers Union and village life in South Cave. Norman was awarded an MBE in 2012 for raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity. We have set up a Just Giving page for donations to MacMillan and Marie Curie who supported Norman and our family towards the end of his life. Any donations given would be truly appreciated.
We are having a private cremation followed by a service of thanksgiving which is taking place on Friday 17th February 2023 at 1:15pm at All Saints Church, South Cave. Family flowers only please but a donation to the Just Giving Page if you can:
