Stanley Walter Read, OH 1942-48, sadly died at age 91 on December 26, 2022. After attending Hymers with his two brothers Mike and Peter, Stanley worked as a machinist all his life in Hull. He emigrated to Whyalla, South Australia in the 1960's with his wife and three daughters where he worked for the steelworks in Australia until his retirement. 

Stan's brother Mike celebrates his 95th birthday in January 2023 and lives in Preston, East Yorkshire with his wife. The three brothers attended Hymers from 1939 and were evacuated to Market Weighton in the war. 

Loving husband of Madge (dec). Loved father of Pam and Rick, Tricia and Peter, Debbie and Edi.

Cherished Grandad of Nicola, Jacob, Whitlam, Digby, Jon, Bridgette, Grace, Emily, Rose, Sarah (dec), Gareth, Carrianne, Keeley, Xavier, Millah, Geoff, Suz, Darby, Alfie, Amy, Matt, Oakley, Hurley, Griffin, Freddie, Zac, Amy, Ernie, Fin, Maggie, Esther, Chris, Sami, Arya, Stevie, Daniel, Robbie, and Shannon.

A life well lived.

A man well-loved.
