The first lunch of 2025 was held on Wednesday 29 January and we were delighted to welcome back our alumni to the school. We were thrilled to see the return of Arthur Weston, OH 1955-62 and Ian Hanson. OH 1986-91, who have been unable to attend for a while, as well as the usual regulars.
A moment was taken to reflect on the life of Vincent Bessant, OH 1954-61, a lunch regular who sadly passed away over Christmas.
During courses, our guests were treated to a musical interlude. Year 12 student, Xavier performed Summer Time on the saxaphone and Anay from Year 10 performed a solo piece on the xylophone.

Feedback:
The food (and wine) were excellent and I really enjoyed the company of those on 'my' table, most of whom I knew from previous visits to these functions. In addition, to have Victoria to one side, with whom I spent much time talking about 'the olden days', and Tom on the other, really enhanced the experience. Tom was a fine example of a Hymers College student who was as keen to join in with the conversation as we were to include him.
As well as thanking you for your hard work (and for arranging the event on a Wednesday!) I would like to express my thanks to the members of your team who were so friendly and helpful to us all.
