Events |
We were delighted to welcome back Dr Ronnie Banerjee, OH 1992-2002, and Giles Moore, OH 1991-2001, alongside current parent Dr Susan Stebbings who supported our recent careers in medicine evening. The event was aimed at students in Year 10 upwards who are considering career options after Hymers and are showing an initial interest in a medical route. All three of our panelist speakers were able to share their route into their profession alongside some very helpful and useful tips to enter any medical specialism today.
We had many of our students and families who were keen to ask questions afterwards and all of our speakers very kindly offered any further assistance with the students in the future. We are extremely fortunate to be able to draw on such a wide range of expertise in the Hymers community. We are very grateful for the skills, knowledge, and talent that continue to support our current students and beyond their lives at Hymers.
Thank you to all of our Old Hymerian community that are supporting us in this series of careers events with our students, Your help is invaluable and of a huge benefit to Hymers students in 2023.
Dr Ronnie Banerjee, OH 1992-2002
I was a student at Hymers from 1992 to 2002, before following in the footsteps of my 2 older brothers in to the medical profession. I qualified as a GP but always wanted to pursue a career in sports medicine. I am currently the head doctor at Hull City, GB Taekwondo and work with Leeds Rhinos and Jamaica rugby league. Alongside this I am the founder of AB3 Medical, which improves medical notekeeping within sport and the private healthcare sector through an athlete passport app.
Giles Moore, OH 1991-2001
After graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2006, I returned to my East Yorkshire roots and worked in a small animal hospital for 10 years. I moved to Aldgate in 2016 and became a director of the business in 2019. I enjoy all aspects of first opinion practice but have particular interests in diagnostic imaging and keyhole surgery. Outside of work, my wife and I are kept busy with our two young daughters, our pony called Smudge and our Patterdale terrier called Charlie!
Susan Stebbings
I’m a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lecturer at the University of Hull. I qualified with a Doctorate in Clinical psychology from the university of Hull in 1999 and specialise in working with children, adolescents and young adults with mental health difficulties, intellectual difficulties and neurodevelopmental disorders. I also teach trainee clinical Psychologists and supervise postgraduate research.
