We are looking forward to welcoming back guest speaker, Amitava Banerjee (OH 1996), Clinical Associate Professor in Data Science and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist, University College London.
It seems apt that this year The Old Hymerians Association should celebrate its deep links with the NHS. Hymers is rightly proud of its excellent reputation of supplying talent into the medical professions and many of our former pupils spent time on the front line tackling the Coronavirus crisis. We want to take the opportunity to thank them at our long delayed Hull Annual Dinner on Saturday, 11th September 2021 and will hopefully be able to welcome some of those heroes back to the school.
We will also take this opportunity to celebrate the life of John Gosnold who sadly died in December of last year. He served the Hull NHS trust for 26 years as an A&E consultant until his retirement in 2001. He was a great supporter of the OHA and served as its President in 2011.
Another focus of the event will be the official launch of the 2021 John Hymers Bursary Fund. At the core of Hymers mission is “For the training of intelligence in whatever social rank of life it may be found among the vast and varied population of the town and port of Hull” John Hymers. Our aim is to double the provision of bursaries to the school within a decade.
