Leaving Hymers College in 1997, I went to medical school in Leicester and returned to Hull as a Junior doctor, working on the wards at both Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital, moving on to do my GP training locally too, before taking up a partnership in East Hull, ironically right in front of Craven Park, which took a bit of getting over, being a lifelong Hull FC fan! I moved down to London over a decade ago, and have worked at every level of General Practice in both NHS and private sectors.

For a long period of my time within General Practice, despite being incredibly proud to work within the public sector, I felt that the NHS was increasingly struggling to cope with demand and that patient experience, clinician experience, and standard of care were dipping routinely below the standard that patients and clinicians alike expected, and through this, decided to set up my own private practice.

With time, this grew to a small but manageable number of patients, but I spotted an opportunity to deliver highly personaliSed standards of healthcare in the private sector as a viable and affordable alternative to the unfortunate sluggishness of the National Health Service, which has become even more so post-Covid lockdown as hospital services were stretched even further and “winter pressures” became “year-round pressures”.
